OUROBOROS FOUND |
|
The Ouroboros, Greek for "tail-devourer", was described by Plato as the first being of creation. Plato described it as a serpent that feeds on itself and therefore requires nothing. It is the symbol of perfection, completeness and wholeness.
The armadillo lizard of south Africa closely resembles Plato's Ouroboros. It curls up on itself and bites its tail when threatened

The Ouroboros appears in many myths across the world, notably in Aztec mythology as the god Quetzalcoatl, the god of wisdom. |
